Healthy, Sustainable, and Eco-Friendly Lifestyles: A Snapshot of the Boston Veg Food Fest

Tools Used: Adobe Premiere Pro, Sony A7iii Camera, Zoom Recorder

Project Type: Classroom Assignment

My role: Research, filming, interviewing, scripting, and editing.

About the Project A short, journalistic video capturing the energy and purpose of Boston’s biggest vegetarian and vegan festival. Shot as part of my Fundamentals of Digital Journalism course, the piece blends A-roll interviews with atmospheric B-roll to tell a quick, engaging story.

The Story
The festival celebrated its 30th year at the Reggie Lewis Athletic Center. With food stalls, animal welfare booths, vegan skincare, clothing, jewelry, and dessert bars, the event centered around one big idea: choosing healthier and more eco-friendly lifestyles through conscious, sustainable consumption.

How I Approached It
I focused on what makes the festival meaningful - the people, the food, the activism, and the community. I paired interviews with vendors and visitors with wide, colorful B-roll to capture the feel of the space. The goal was a clean, 3–4 minute narrative that lets viewers experience the fest as if they were walking through it.

Final Outcome
A polished video that highlights the festival’s mission and shows my ability to shoot, interview, and edit a complete story. It strengthened my skills in video journalism, event coverage, and shaping a visual narrative.
